The patent pending RAPNAP (Return Address, Peer Network Address Pair) database is the key to pay2send universal e-mail identity technology. Instead of blindly trusting the trivially forged return address on an e-mail message, pay2send pairs the return address with the network address of the relay from which the e-mail was received. A RAPNAP can be checked by accessing the pay2send RAPNAP web service, http://www.pay2send.com/cgi/rapnap/check. The rapnap check web service is only available by subscription. Each user of the RAPNAP check service has a unique password key that is used to authenticate themselves. The following price schedule is subject to change. The first 99 checks for any one account each day are free, and after your 100th check each day, your account will be debited on a smoothly sliding scale calculated in such a way that for a 30 day month, a user of exactly 100 checks each day will be charged ten dollars, a user of 1100 checks each day will be charged twenty dollars, 10100 checks each day costs forty dollars a month, and so on, according to the logarithmic formula daily_bill = ( 10 / 30 ) * 2 ^ ( log10 ( daily_count - 100) - 2 ). Accounts are debited every 24 hours, and account statements itemized for each day are sent out each week. The RAPNAP check web service is a standard CGI program that recognizes three variables: 1] RA: the return address, which must (at this time) be an e-mail address matching the regular expression /^[\w\.\-]+\@[\w\.\-]+$/ 2] PNA: the peer network addressm which must (at this time) be an IPv4 address in dotted-quad format /^\d{1,3}\.\d{1,3}\.\d{1,3}\.\d{1,3}\$/ 3] key: an account password key for the account to log this RAPNAP check request to. Terms Of Service: Subscribers to the pay2send RAPNAP database are expected to refer to the database as an aid in determining the legitimacy status of otherwise unauthenticated SMTP e-mail messages.
